UKPlanning FAQs
Can online forms be customised?
The online forms wizard will display the relevant council's logo.
The output document, in PDF format, can be customised to match any
existing forms.
How does the managed scanning service operate?
Typically the council batches the paper applications on a daily basis
and forwards them to the Scanning Service at UKPlanning. Within three
days of receiving the hard copy documents, they will be scanned, indexed
and published in electronic format on the UKPlanning web site. The
documents are then returned to the Council.
How is UKPlanning implemented within the council?
The service is delivered in 2 phases - the first phase meets the needs
of public access and the second streamlines internal processes through
integration.
How is UKPlanning priced?
The cost is on a per case file basis. This is a fixed cost, regardless
of the size of the case file.
Is a demonstration available?
Yes, you can contact your local account manager for a demonstration
onsite. A downloadable demonstration is not available for councils
as it is important to see the service, both from the citizen's point
of view and from the officer's perspective. There is however, a demonstration
of online forms available that anyone can test drive.
Is there a guaranteed service level for the Scanning Service?
UKPlanning guarantees that the electronic register is available on
the web within 3 working days, from receipt of the documents. A 50%
refund of the cost is made if the Service Level Agreement is not met.
Is UKPlanning the same as a normal software sale?
No, UKPlanning does not cover just software (but hardware and services
too), although the portal is underpinned by our award winning IDOX software.
This means that the council accesses IDOX software on a
rental basis rather than buying in the software.
Who has access to UKPlanning?
www.ukplanning.com (opens new
window) can be accessed by the public (residents, agents, community
groups) free of charge.
